Rahm and Rauner go way back –  They both have Goldman Sachs connections

We know that Rahm Emanuel and Bruce Rauner are good friends.    Not just good friends; they’re so close that Rahm has traveled and stayed at Bruce Rauner’s house for a vacation.

You think you know Rahm Emanuel?   Of course he’s the Mayor of Chicago.  He’s the the former Chief of Staff for President Obama.   He worked in the Clinton White House as an advisor to President Bill Clinton.

But did you know this?

Goldman Sachs will be sitting pretty with Emanuel in the Obama White House

Rahm Emanuel was  Bill Clinton’s finance director for his campaign in 1992.   That’s a fancy way of saying that Rahm’s job was to “GET BILL CLINTON THE MONEY” to get elected.

While working on the Clinton campaign Emanuel was a paid retainer of the investment bank Goldman Sachs.  What exactly was his job for Goldman Sachs?   To “introduce us to people“.  Seriously.  Introductions.  Think about that for a minute.

When Rahm was appointed to Chief of Staff for President Obama after the 2008 election one newspaper headline put it this way:    “Goldman Sachs will be sitting pretty with Emanuel in the White House

Goldman Sachs has connections to Governor Bruce Rauner too

You know what?  Bruce Rauner also has Goldman Sachs connections.

Bruce Rauner has a partnership interest in Goldman Sachs Investments Partners LP (see below for Statement of Economic Interest from Governor Rauner in 2015)

Goldman Sachs was described by one journalist like this:

“The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it’s everywhere. The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money.”

Rahm Emanuel and Bruce Rauner are not just vacation buddies;  they’re mutual money making friends both with and for Goldman Sachs.

There’s more to this story too.

Rahm made a bunch of money in his lifetime in a short time window.  How did he do it?  With a little help from his friends.  Stay tuned.

Was Bruce Rauner an outsider when he ran for Governor?  You decide.

Is this the kind of successful businessman you thought you were electing?  Does he sound like an outsider to you?
